Ampara

Ampara city was a small town in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka, which was known as the resting place of hunters in the colonial era. after Gal Oya development project it became a Small nice town with a lot of places worth visiting. Ampara is a multicultural city with all four religions lives in peace. Since then it has more religious places to visit and experience the culture. Highlights of Ampara are Buddhist cultural places such as ancient ruins hidden in the wilderness. Also, the traditional irrigation systems are playing a major role in rice cultivation in the area.  Ampara has a lot of cultivation lands with corn, vegetables including paddy fields. In rural areas in Ampara there are few indigenous communities staying in the wild, living with the nature.
